Last week I FINALLY went somewhere other than physical therapy, a doctor's appointment, or Ma and Pa's house. I took a solo mini-road trip to Santa Cruz and had a great time. It was sunny, the drive was traffic-free, and I got to see beautiful mountains, warm beach, and cute goodies.
This store, Stripe, was the main reason I went on the trip. I had read about it here, and became slightly obsessed with seeing it in person. Isn't this key wall cool? Making something like this would drive me completely, utterly bonkers...when someone else does it, it's awesome!
Such a cute interior. Stripe has clothing, housewares, jewelry, and some bath and body treats.
Lots of eye candy, the girl working there was super sweet, and I got 20% off because I had friended them on facebook. I bought a pretty water carafe, some tea towels to go into my new-to-me kitchen, and a striped (natch) tank. Yea!
Then I walked on the main downtown drag for a while...stopping almost immediately at the one place where I will always--ALWAYS!!-- stop:
There are some cool murals....
...and after a trip to the Goodwill (where I bought a kitty food bowl, some trippy silver booze glasses, and a $50 leather jacket) and to Retro Paradise, a kooky clothing and accessories store with new and vintage items (where I bought some cherry-printed socks and leggings) I headed to the beach.
Beach Boardwalk photos to follow...
