My summer so far has been a combination of some fun things, and a lot of not-so-fun things. One not so fun thing is physical therapy, where I am told to do certain movements over and over and over and over and over and I hear the same thing every time: "No. Turn this/you're rotating/this is not coming back/blah blah etc etc. Try again." It hurts and it is frustrating and I don't feel better yet! BLEH!!!
Another not fun thing is caring for/worrying about my parents. Parkinson's Disease, strokes, hearing loss, diabetes, dementia, and heart problems PLUS hoarding PLUS denial do NOT make me happy. I got on the phone the other day and begged my brother for help...actually used the words, "I'm begging you." We'll see.
So, there are some nice things about summer, of course, and I have been trying to find them and do them and see them so that I don't completely lose my mind.
I am shredding so many old bills and receipts and documents that I am putting all the shreds in a huge trashbag, which I will soon empty into the recycling bin. Boots likes to sit in/on the bag, causing me just minor heart attacks that she is going to get caught and suffocate.
Summer is when paint jobs and home improvements happen. The kitchen is going from pale yellow with crazy yellow and green tile to black chalkboard wall, pale gray, and turquoise back door. CAN'T WAIT for it to be done!
And finally, I have been purging old stuff. This pic is from the second trip. A lot of the stuff is coming out of the garage and storage room, and then there is always the summer clothing purge that helps me get ready to buy new things for Autumn. Fun fun!
I wish I was going somewhere for summer, but I needed to a) save money, and b) stay close to Ma and Pa. So I am here...trying to focus on the good parts. :)
