Today is my birthday party day. I am totally hyped up on adrenaline and anxiety, fueled by all my hopes that people show up, people have a good time, people dance, people drink a lot (I have to make a huge bar guarantee), and that it is the best, most fabulous, amazing and unforgettable party of their ENTIRE LIVES!!!
Ummm...well, I do hope that everyone has fun.
I, of course, have been plotting what to wear for weeks. Last weekend I went downtown and bought two dresses, one of which is lying in wait for Las Vegas; the other one will be worn tonight. The Las Vegas dress is purple and silky and drapey and has cut-outs and knots and shows all sorts of body bits and pieces, and it cost me an arm and a leg and is awesome.
The San Francisco party dress cost $25.00 at Old Navy. It's one-shouldered and black and jersey, and I will wear my $15.00 belt from Target with it. It is also awesome, but in a different way...maybe because it cost 25 bucks. No pictures of the dresses right now. I can't find any online and at the moment getting out the camera and taking pics of myself modeling sounds like way too much work.
I do have a picture of the shoes I am wearing tonight, though. They are super strappy and crazy high and make me very, very tall. The pic doesn't do them justice. These shoes, when on my feet, make me look like I am going to tie up, beat, and torture someone to death...which, naturally, makes me love them sooooo much!
I'll be bringing flip-flop back-ups. xoxoxo...Excited!
No, not "booty," but I often have that moment, as well. I am in a Autumnal moment of shoe-bootie wanting-ness.
Am I too old for these?: I think they are so c ute and they look comfy and like they would make me happy.
And I totally want these: They are sort of weird but awesome, right? They are also $220, so I would need to save some moola.
I already bought these: Whenever I wear them I feel freakin' SPECTACULAR, like I can kick anyone's ass and look super sexy while doing it. When I first got them I wore them around the house while in my pajamas, looking at my feet every now and then and chuckling at my amazing hotness. (Smile!)
I don't know why I don't blog more. I like being a Blogger. I LOVE seeing my writing up on an actual website and I ESPECIALLY love reading the 1 or 2 comments I get. *Hugs to those that comment!*
But over the last few months life has been a little crazy, with sick parents and sick pets and school, and then summer vacation was so full of nothing-ness and travels that I didn't want to disturb it with anything that seemed like work.
So here I am again, with a new goal to post to the blog every week. Just once a week at first. I am hoping that it will become a routine and that I will start to look forward to it more and procrastinate less.
And in the spirit of routine, I am sharing a few of the products that I routinely buy. Being a product whore, I buy a whole bunch of stuff just because I want to try it and see if it changes my life, but these are a few that I buy over and over again. The list includes Dove soap and LashBlast mascara, but I've already shared those...and perhaps some friends are getting sick of me going on and on about the mascara?
When I was diagnosed with rosacea--a slight drama which really needs its own, separate post--the doctor recommended this wash. It is really gentle and low sudsing, and it gets my face clean and helps the redness and bumps go away. It doesn't sting and it isn't expensive.
My DevaCurl hair products. While I grow my hair and experience a whole new outlook on life as a curly-haired person, I try lots of new products. These are good and not too flashy and they make my hair feel soft and look really curly. I like how they smell and they don't seem too chemical-ish. I like all Neutrogena sun products. They have all the new-fangled SPF products that dermotologists are raving about. (Did you know there are new-fangled sunscreens? One that was just "discovered" recently that is said to protect skin much more than any other is in these products.) I like this lotion because it makes my skin feel comfy and it doesn't aggravate the rosacea. And, it has a 30 SPF, AND it comes in tints or no tint. Happy.
Finally... I keep buying this body scrub because it smells so yummy, it makes my skin feel smooth and soft, and it doesn't leave my tub so slippery that I fear for my life. And it is about 10 bucks for a tub that lasts a really long time. Again, it does something, but doesn't irritate my skin (which is, I guess, pretty sensitive).
Here's to routines and the products that support them! See you in a week...
